Larry married Shirley Hampton June 18, 1955 at the United Methodist Church in Carroll. The couple lived in Omaha where Larry was a plumber for Union Pacific Railroad until 1957, when they moved to a farm near Truman, MN. They returned to farm near Winside in 1967. Larry was a member of the United Methodist Church in Winside where he served as an usher, Chairman of the Building Committee, and many other church committees. He enjoyed farming, camping, NASCAR, cards, the Huskers, and most of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
