Funeral services for Neva Lorenzen age 90 of Wayne, will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne on Thursday November 29th at 1:30 p.m. She passed away Sunday at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield. Visitation will be held at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with family present. Interment will be in

Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wayne. Officiate: Rev. Bob Oleson. Memorials may be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne and Wakefield Health Care Center.

    Neva Wilhelmina Lorenzen, the oldest of 11 children and daughter of Albert and Louise (Wittler) Brader was born at home in Wayne County on December 23, 1921.  She attended country school at District #29 and attended Winside High School for 2 years before staying home to help care for her infant sister, Josephine.  Neva was married to August Lorenzen on February 14, 1943, in Onset, MA.  She worked at the Goodyear Rubber Factory while August was in the army.  Neva moved back to Wayne in 1944 and worked at local grocery stores.  In 1945, August returned to Wayne.  Their son, Gary was born June 9, 1946.  Neva stayed home with Gary for 3 years before returning to work at local grocery and clothing stores, and Wayne State College as a custodian.  Neva and August moved to Swea City, IA in 1969 and returned to Wayne in 1974.  Neva worked at the Wayne Senior Center for 9 years and volunteered for 4 more years.  Neva lived at The Oaks Retirement Community in Wayne for 5 years and moved to Wakefield Care Center in April, 2010. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.             
    Neva is survived by her son and daughter-in-law,  Gary and Sandra (Olds) Lorenzen of Lincoln;  2 married grandchildren, Lisa (Paul) Oakland  and Kent (Morgan) Lorenzen all of Lincoln; 2 great-grandchildren, Lillianna Oakland and Jedidiah Oakland of Lincoln; 2 brothers, Herbert (Dorothy) Brader of Oakland and Paul (Janice) Brader of Norfolk; 4 sisters, Viola Junck of Carroll, Mabel Sommerfeld of Wayne, Josephine Hogan of Sioux City, IA, and Gladys Bader of Phoenix, AZ; many nieces and nephews.
    Neva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, August in 1989; 2 brothers, Marvin and Kenneth; 2 sisters, Lenola Kraemer and Arlene Hammer.
    Neva’s family appreciates your thoughts and kindness and invites you to lunch in the church fellowship hall following the committal service.
