Funeral services for Ardath Otte age 81 of Wayne will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Wednesday  from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church and the Wayne Elementary School.

She passed away Sunday at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield

     Ardath Martha Katharine Otte was born February 14, 1931, on a farm near Concord to Bernhard and Lena (Greve) Koch.   She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  She graduated from Concord High School and attended college in Wayne.  Ardath taught in rural schools and also worked at the Wayne Book Store.  Ardath married Karl W. Otte on December 4, 1960, at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple made their home in Wayne.  Ardath ran ABC Preschool for 25 years.  She was the first teacher for many 3-, 4-, and 5- year old children. Ardath was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne and taught Sunday School for 25 years.
     Ardath is survived by one son, Walter Otte and one daughter, Karla (Brent) Pick all of Wayne; two grandchildren, Kasey Otte of Concord and Lauren   Pick of Wayne; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bonnadell Koch of Wayne, Con Munson of Wakefield, Bonnie Otte of Wayne, Heinz (Barbara) Otte of Mendota Heights, MN, Elaine (John) Moje of Arvada, CO, Paul (Ginny) Otte of Wayne, Allen (Annette) Otte of Minneapolis, MN; nieces and nephews.
     Ardath was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Karl in 2004; twin sister, Ardyce Munson; brothers, Ardale and Marlyn Koch; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and one nephew.   
    Ardath’s family appreciates your thoughts and prayers and invites you to a reception in the church fellowship hall following the committal service.
