EWING - The two victims of a double homicide in a mobile home near Ewing on Saturday have been identified. According to Antelope County Attorney Joe Abler, the victims were identified as 25-year old Victoria Lee of Missouri Valley, Iowa and 30-year old Gabino Vargas of Omaha.
Abler says autopsies have been scheduled, and causes of death could be determined by mid-week. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Abler says a co-worker of Vargas, identified as Francisco Gomez, was also in the trailer at the time of the fire, but was able to get away unharmed. Gomez was questioned by authorities and released. Abler says 33-year old Matthew Hinrichsen of Ewing has been charged with two counts of first degree murder as well as a first degree felony charge related to the incident. Hinrichsen is being held at the Madison County Jail, awaiting an appearance in Antelope County Court.
