WSC's Jordan Spencer Named NSIC Women's Player Of The Week

WAYNE - Jordan Spencer of Wayne State College was selected the Northern Sun Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota. It’s the first time the 5-11 sophomore forward from Millard West High School earned NSIC Player of the Week honors.
Spencer recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 23 points and 11 rebounds in Monday’s 85-47 win over Chadron State at Rice Auditorium for the Wildcats’ 52nd straight win at home. She was 9 for 16 from the field and 5 of 8 at the free throw line in the win. For the season, Spencer has scored in double figures in all nine games for the Wildcats and leads the team in scoring (17.8) and rebounding (8.4), ranking fifth in the NSIC in scoring and seventh in rebounding. She is also sixth in the league in field goal percentage, making 53.7 percent (66 of 123) from the floor.
Wayne State, ranked 19th in the latest USA TODAY/Sports Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, is 7-2 overall and 3-2 in the NSIC heading into home games this weekend against Concordia-St. Paul Friday evening at 6 p.m. and Minnesota State Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
