S.D. Man Jailed After Exceeding 100 MPH

NORFOLK - A South Dakota man is in jail for Driving While Intoxicated after a Nebraska State Patrol trooper stopped his vehicle traveling more than 100 mph on Highway 81 south of Norfolk.
Just after 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, a trooper stopped a red 1999 Ford Explorer for speeding, on Highway 81, three miles south of Norfolk. The vehicle was initially clocked at 96 mph in a 55 mph zone. The vehicle sped up to 111 mph prior to being stopped by the trooper. The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Caleb A. Minerd of Wakonda, S.D., was lodged in the Madison County jail on charges of Driving While Intoxicate (DWI) and speeding.
