Gail J. Benscoter was born May 24, 1957, at Laurel to DeRoy and Della (Lich) Gregg. She graduated from Ponca High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State College. She lived near Martinsburg until her marriage to Louis E. Benscoter September 21, 1975, at the United Methodist Church in Ponca. The couple lived south of Maskell where she helped farm and raise pigs. She was employed as a billing administrator at Dakota Lines in Vermillion for a few years while also being a bookkeeper for Benscoter farm and construction companies.
Gail is survived by her husband, Louis of Newcastle; children, Mandy Benscoter (friend Jaret Olson) of Concord, Kevin (Justina) Benscoter of Valentine, Louis Benscoter Jr. of Wayne; seven grandchildren; sisters, Gloria (Jim) Meyer of Fort Calhoun, Lori (Jay) Seefus of Fort Calhoun; Samantha (Clark) Von Hagel of Florida; Special friends and adopted children, Chad and Vicki Smith of Wayne; her father, DeRoy (Peggy) Gregg of Ponca; mother-in-law, Betty Benscoter of Wayne; and many nieces and nephews.
Gail was preceded in death by her mother, Della Gregg and father-in-law, Louis Benscoter.
Gail was very proud of her children. She loved deeply to play with her grandchildren and go on long weekend road trips with her husband.
Gail married the love of her life, Lou. She really enjoyed the outdoors and we will always remember her ornery smile. Gail went to heaven to be with her angel, her mom. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of her family and many friends.
Gail’s family appreciates your thoughts and kindness and invites you to lunch in the church fellowship hall following the service.
