Vehicle Collides With House, Sends One To Hospital

WAYNE - The Wayne Police Department reports that at approximately 3:40 Sunday morning, a one vehicle accident with injuries was reported in the 700 block of East Tenth Street in Wayne. According to police, a 2002 Lincoln LS, driven by 19 year old Dominic Reinke of Wayne, was eastbound on Tenth Street when it left the road striking a tree, a parked vehicle in the driveway and then coming to rest after colliding with the house. Wayne Fire and Rescue was dispatched to the scene and extricated the driver from the vehicle.  Black Hills Energy was also on scene due to damage to a gas meter on the residence. Reinke was taken by ambulance to Providence Medical Center for his injuries and later transferred to a Sioux City Hospital. The accident remains under investigation.
