WAED, Chamber and Main St. Awards Banquet Held Sunday Night

WAYNE (KTCH/KCTY) - Sunday night marked the annual awards banquet for Wayne Area Economic Development, Chamber and Main Street. The first awards presented were the Main Street awards. Recipients included Main Street Wayne for gaining National Accreditation. Also honored was Irene Fletcher for her outstanding work, Rustic Treasures was awarded best creative window, while Heidi Claussen was the Main St. Volunteer of the year and Moments Portrait Boutique was named Main St. Business of the year. The award ceremony continued with Educator of the Year, which went to Anthony Cantrell, Industrial Technology teacher at Wayne High School. That was followed by the Most Valuable Patron award, presented to the Wayne County Fair and Ag Society. The awards continued after dinner and entertainment, starting with the 2012 Small Business of the Year, which was won by the White Dog Pub. The 2012 Large Business of the Year was State National Bank. The evening ended with the presentation of the award for 2012 Citizen of the Year, which went to Reggie Yates.
