HARTINGTON – According to the Nebraska State Patrol, a 35-year-old Lincoln man was injured in a one-vehicle crash Monday morning in Cedar County, and icy roads are being cited as the cause.
A spokesperson with the Patrol says Gary R. Thompson was driving southbound just before 6:00 am Monday near the intersection of Highways 59 and 81. The Patrol says Thompson lost control of his vehicle, which then entered the west ditch of Highway 81 and rolled. Thompson was not wearing a seat belt at the time, and was thrown from the vehicle. Randolph Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and transported Thompson to Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. The collision is being investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol with assistance from the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office.
