LINCOLN (AP) - Nebraska State Treasurer Don Stenberg says he's pondering a run for governor. Stenberg said Thursday that it's "unlikely, but possible" that he'll jump into the 2014 race.
Stenberg says he previously had planned to seek re-election as state treasurer, but is now considering a run for governor in the wake of Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy's resignation. Sheehy had declared that he was running, but resigned from office in the wake of an Omaha World-Herald investigation that found he had placed thousands of calls to women on his state-issued cell phone.
