Hartington Youth Wins State Severe Weather Poster Contest

LINCOLN (AP) - A 10-year-old girl from northeast Nebraska has won first place in an annual state severe weather poster contest.
Brynn Wortmann, a fourth grade student from Holy Trinity in Hartington, earned first place with her poster: “Lightning is Frightening … Respect It.” The contest, open to Nebraska’s fourth-grade students, is sponsored by the Nebraska Association of Emergency Management, the National Weather Service, and the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency. The top finishers were recognized by Gov. Dave Heineman at a ceremony Wednesday in Lincoln.
