Posted: 16 April, 2013

PILGER – The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate a two-vehicle accident that sent two Stanton residents to the hospital Monday night. According to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger, the accident took place at the junction of Highways 275 and 15 near Pilger. when a westbound van driven by 67-year-old Judy West of Stanton collided nearly head-on with an eastbound car driven by 18-year-old Deondre Whiteof Wayne. Both West and her passenger, 72-year-old Leonard West, were taken to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.  Unger says neither of the Wests’ injuries are life-threatening, and that White declined treatment at the scene. Unger says White was preparing to turn north onto Highway 15 when the accident occurred.  Seatbelts were used and airbags deployed on both vehicles and are credited with lessening the severity of the injuries.
