Third Explosion Hits Boston; Ruhl Family Uninjured From Previous Blasts

Posted: 16 April, 2013

BOSTON (AP) – Boston police say there’s been a third explosion in the city, following two blasts near the finish line of the Boston Marathon that killed two people and injured many others.
Police Commissioner Edward Davis says authorities aren’t certain that the explosion at the JFK Library was related to the other blasts, but they’re treating them as if they are. Davis says there are no injuries stemming from the third explosion. He urged people to stay indoors and not congregate in large groups.

Wayne native Regan Ruhl, daughter of Rocky and Silvia Ruhl, competed in the marathon, finishing at number 9,968 overall out of nearly 27,000 competitors. In an email from Rocky Ruhl, he said that Regan finished 30-45 minutes before the explosion and that they were all ok, but locked down in their hotel.
