Funeral services for Bill J. Suehl, 81, of Norfolk will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Christ Lutheran

Church, Norfolk: Reverend Chip Winter will officiate.  Burial will be in Greenwood  Cemetery, Wayne; with military rites by American Legion Post 252 of Winside.  Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Home for Funerals, Norfolk, Nebraska.
            Bill died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Heritage of Bel Air.
            Bill was born January 28, 1932 to William and Blanche (Carr) Suehl in Wayne, County. He grew up on the family farm Southeast of Winside. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended rural grade school and Winside High School. Bill entered the Army On September 30, 1952 he Spent 16 months in Korea during the Korean War. Bill received his honorable discharge on August 12, 1954.
            On March 9,1952 Bill and Marcella Meyer were married at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. They made their home on a farm Southeast of Winside. Bill farmed for 33 years. Bill then worked for Great Dane Trailers of Wayne. After Bill retired from Great Dane, he drove a van part time for the Stanton Health Center.    
            Bill was a member of American Legion Post 252 of Winside.
            Bill is survived by 3 sons, Steve and Jean Suehl, Keith and Lori Suehl, both of Hoskins, Duane and Cheryl Suehl of Wayne, a daughter Phyllis and Terry Nelson of Winside, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a sister Shirley and Gene Brudigan of Hoskins, a brother-in-law Ferris and Margie Meyer of Wakefield, many nieces, nephews and a very special friend Ilene Schmidt of Norfolk.
            Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marcella on November 9, 2001, a great-granddaughter, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 2 nephews.
