WSC Women's Track Team Remains 10th In Nation

WAYNE - The Wayne State College women’s outdoor track and field team remained 10th in the latest USTFCCCA (U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) NCAA Division II National Team Computer rankings released Tuesday afternoon.  The Wildcats collected 83.42 points in the national rankings that are compiled using performance data from both the current 2013 outdoor season and the 2012 outdoor season. WSC and the University of Mary (13th) are the lone NSIC teams in the national rankings this week.
                The Wildcat women have four athletes ranked in the top 10 nationally in three events.  Junior Carly Fehringer is first in the hammer throw (206-11) and tied for 10th in the shot put (47-9¼). Senior Lachel Milander is third in the hammer throw (200-11), sophomore Sara Wells is third in the shot put (49-7) and 10th in the discus (156-3) while junior Emily Wells is 10th in the hammer throw (180-7).
                Wayne State is scheduled to compete Wednesday at the UNL Mini Meet in Lincoln while throwers Brad Wright (discus), Carly Fehringer, Lachel Milander and Emily Wells (hammer throw) will compete Saturday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
