Wayne High Baseball Falls To South Sioux City

SOUTH SIOUX CITY (KTCH/KCTY) - The Wayne High baseball team was on the road last night, competing at South Sioux City.
The Cardinals got the better of the Blue Devils, beating Wayne 4-1 in varsity action. Curtis Moeller took the loss on the mound for Wayne, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks, striking out one. Brady Soden pitched an inning of relief surrendering two unearned runs while also recording two strikeouts. Luke Rethwisch led at the plate with a double, while Curtis Moeller and Jake Lutt both had a single. Brook Bowers scored the lone run for the Blue Devils, who are now 3-8 on the year. There was also a JV game, in which South Sioux City beat Wayne 11-5.
