Ray Cuba age 81 of Concord

Graveside services with military rites for Ray Cuba age 81 of Concord will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday May 14,

 2013 at the Laurel Cemetery in Laurel, Nebraska. He passed away Wednesday at a Sioux City Iowa Hospital. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Laurel.

     Raymond Louis Cuba was born, January 23, 1932, in Denver, CO to Louis J. and Veronica A. (Gorniak) Cuba.  He attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Annunciation High School.  Raymond married Darlene Shively, December 15, 1951, in Denver.  He served two years in the United States Army in Korea.  After the Army he attended plumber’s apprenticeship school and was a plumber for thirty-five years.  Ray and Darlene moved to Concord in 1987.  Ray was a custodian at Laurel-Concord School for seven years and maintenance man at Providence Medical Center for four years.  He loved to fish in the Colorado Mountains.                                                           
     Ray is survived by his wife, Darlene; five sons, Brian (Sandy) Cuba of Eaton, CO, Rick (Cheri) Cuba of Thornton, CO, Terry (Lynn) Cuba of Woodbridge, VA, Robert (Deneen) Cuba and Donald Cuba all of Northglenn, CO; sister, Barbara Femmer, brother, Tom (Debra) Cuba, and sister-in-law, Margaret Jo Cuba, all of Denver, CO; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.                                                                                 
     Ray was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James.
    Ray’s family appreciates your thoughts and kindness and invites you to lunch in the Bishop Milone Hall at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dixon following the service.
