Area Teams Representing At State Golf

UNDATED (KTCH/KCTY) - The first round of the Nebraska boys’ state golf championships got underway yesterday at various locations across the state.
The Class C meet is being held at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln. Currently in Class C, Laurel-Concord/Coleridge is in second place with a team total of a 329 and Hartington Cedar Catholic is in fourth place with a 333. Individually, Plainview’s Sam Meuret leads the class with a 68. Back-to-back defending state champion Mitchell Klooz of LCC is currently fifth, shooting a 76. HCC’s Derek Klug is tied for ninth place with a 79. In Class D action being played at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course in Kearney, Bancroft-Rosalie is in second with a 367, while Hartington High is tied for fourth with a team total of a 382. Individually in Class D, Bancroft-Rosalie’s Preston Peters is tied for fifth place with an 83. Bancroft-Rosalie’s Auston Darnell is tied for tenth place with an 85. The final round of the state championships begins this morning at 9:30.
