Area Schools Finish Well At Boys' State Golf

UNDATED (KTCH/KCTY) - The final round of the NSAA boys’ state golf championships was completed yesterday. In Class C, which took place at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln, Laurel-Concord/Coleridge finished third with a two-day total of a 657.
Hartington Cedar Catholic finished in fifth-place overall with a 672. Individually, Mitchell Klooz earned a bronze medal for the Bears shooting a 146, after winning the gold the last two years. HCC’s top finisher was Grant Howell, who ended in a tie for 23rd with a 166. Lucas Bradfield of Wisner-Pilger finished tied for 13th with a 161. Plainview’s Sam Meuret won the gold this year with a 143. In Class D at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course in Kearney, Bancroft-Rosalie was the runner-up with a 718 while Hartington High finished fourth with a 743. BR’s Preston Peters finished fourth with a 159, and Auston Darnell was eighth with a 166. Pender’s Mitchell Mailloux finished in a tie for 14th with a 176.
