Dirt Devil 18s Go 2-2 At Ringneck Tournament

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Wayne Dirt Devils 18 and under softball team competed in the Ringneck Tournament held in Sioux Falls Friday-Sunday, going 2-2.

Game 1:Wayne 8 – Midwest Dirt Devils 0
Cassy Miller was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts, four hits and two walks.

Abbie Hix was 4-4 with three doubles and a single and two RBIs, Kristin Carroll was2-3 with a single, double and two RBIs, and McKenna Gibson was 2-4 with two singles and one RBI.

Game 2: Wayne 3 – MN Chaos 1
Shelby Wobken and Cassy Miller split time on the mound.

Miller was 2-2, while Carroll, Gibson and Hannah Gamble each had a hit.

Game 3: Forest Lake Rangers 6 – Wayne 4
Shelby Wobken and Kendall Gamble split time on the mound.

Carroll, Victoria Kranz, Caitlin Fehringer and Megan Hoffart each recorded hits.

Game 4: MN Impact 8 – Wayne 4
Miller was the losing pitcher with six strikeouts and six hits.

Hix had a double and RBI, while Kranz and McKenna Gibson had singles.

The Dirt Devil 18s are next in action Tuesday night for a makeup road contest with the Norfolk Impact, before participating in the Class A State tournament this weekend. Wayne opens state play against Grand Island NW at 4:45 Friday.
