Arlyce J. Carlson, 78, of Concord, NE passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Hillcrest Care Center in Laurel,  NE, while surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Evangelical Free Church in Concord, NE with Pastor Todd Thelen officiating.  Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord, NE.  Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE.
Arlyce was born in rural Pender, NE on February 4, 1935, the daughter of Roy and Blanche (Smith) Pearson.  She attended Wakefield High School, graduating in 1952.  She married Kenneth Erickson on December 6, 1953 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord, NE.  The couple farmed in rural Concord.  She also worked at Waldbaums.  Kenneth passed away on April 2, 1968.  Arlyce married Victor Carlson on October 3, 1969 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord, NE.  She earned her cosmetology certificate from Stewart’s School of Beauty in Sioux City, IA in 1970.  She owned and operated the Blue and Gold Beauty Shop in Concord, NE the rest of her life.
Arlyce was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord, NE.  She enjoyed baking, gardening, canning and traveling.  By choice she was very active, with very little down time.
Survivors include her husband, Vic Carlson of Concord, NE; son, Kevin Erickson of Wynot, NE; step-sons, Chuck (Marcia) Carlson of Raymond, NE, Lynn Carlson of Perry, OK and Mark (Susie) Carlson of El Cajon, CA; step-daughter, Marla (Jim) Lemon of Stillwater, OK; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Don (Janice) Pearson of Casper, WY, Jerry Pearson of Casey, WY, and Harold “Shorty” (Sandy) Pearson of Hawarden, IA; brother-in-law, James Coan of Wayne, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
Arlyce was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Blanche Pearson; her husband, Kenneth Erickson; and one sister, Mila Jean Coan.
