Nebraska Select 16U Comepte At Chicago Summer Challenge

CHICAGO - Nebraska Select 16U split a pair of games Saturday at the Chicago Summer Challenge.  Select dropped a 67-68 decision to Illinois Bears and was led by Pierce Almond's (Grand Island) 20 points. In the nightcap James Kaiser (Hartington Cedar Catholic) hit seven three-pointers to finish with a game 23 points as the Nebraskans upended the Spiece Gym Rats of Fort Wayne, Indiana 66-63.  Nebraska Select finished pool play with a 2-1 record and advanced to the Gold Pool.

Nebraska Select 16U lost to Team Rose of Chicago 75-61 in the first round of the Gold Bracket at the Chicago Summer Challenge Sunday. Team Rose, sponsored by former NBA MVP Derrick Rose, led 35-21 at the half and were never seriously challenged in the second half.  Select was paced by James Kaiser's (Hartington Cedar Catholic) 18 points. Wils Wallrapp (Omaha Skutt) added 13 and Ben Hoskins (Wayne) had eight points and a team high eight rebounds. 

Select 16s are 10-4 on the year and travel to Minneapolis this weekend to play in the D1 Summer Classic.
