Rivera Named All-Star Game MVP

NEW YORK (AP) - The American League will have home field advantage in the World Series following the AL's 3-0 shutout that ends the National League's three-game winning streak in the All-Star Game. In his final All-Star appearance, retiring 43-year-old New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera was named All-Star MVP after pitching a 1-2-3 eighth inning, one of 10 AL pitchers who combined on the three-hit shutout.
