Blue Devil Runners Shine In First Cross Country Meet

BEEMER (KTCH/KCTY) - The boys’ and girls’ cross country season got underway for many schools in Nebraska yesterday. For Wayne, they competed at the Wisner-Pilger Invitational at Indian Trails Country Club. The Wayne girls started the season strong, as they won the meet. Marta Pulfer and Cassie Heier finished first and second individually, while Angie Nelson was fifth and Molly Burbach finished ninth, rounding out top 10 finishes for the girls team. The Wayne boys finished in third place and were highlighted by a silver performance from Ben Hoskins. Luke Pulfer took home a 10th-place finish for the Blue Devils.
