GRAND ISLAND (AP) - The Nebraska treasurer’s office is hosting a drawing at Husker Harvest Days to promote its state-sponsored college savings program. Winners of the drawing at Husker Harvest Days will win a $529 contribution to a Nebraska Education Savings Trust account. State Treasurer Don Stenberg says the drawing will be held for Nebraska residents ages 18 and older. Residents can enter the drawing at his office’s booth Tuesday through Thursday. The winner will be announced on Sept. 19. The booth will offer information about Nebraska’s state-sponsored program. The Nebraska Educational Savings Trust maintains more than $3 billion in assets for more than 206,000 accounts across the United States. More than 58,000 accounts are in Nebraska.
