WAKEFIELD (AP) - A Wakefield couple have found themselves back in the newspaper publishing business after they thought they had retired from it for good. Bill and Linda Rischmueller are publishing the weekly Wakefield Republican again after the man they sold it to in 2009 died unexpectedly.
The Rischmuellers, both in their 70s, published the paper for 40 years before deciding to sell the paper and retire. They felt they had little choice but to step back in however, after Brad Kurtenbach died in October after a short illness. Because the Rischmuellers still had a financial interest in the paper, they're operating it as special administrators. They plan to continue to run it until they find another buyer.
