Wayne High Volleyball Goes 3-0 At Boone Central Invite

ALBION (KTCH/KCTY) - The Wayne High volleyball team completed play at the Boone Central/Newman Grove Invitation on Saturday, going 3-0 in the tournament. The Blue Devils started things off with a 2-1 win over Columbus Lakeview. Scores of the match were 25-11, 24-26 and 25-19. Lexi Sokol had 14 kills to go along with 10 from Ashton Schweers to lead the hitting attack for Wayne. Meagan Backer record 25 digs and Emma Evetovitch handed out 25 set assists. Wayne next faced Schuyler, winning this time in two sets 25-9 and 25-22. Sokol again led the hitting attack, this time with nine kills. Evetovitch had 22 assists and Backer had nine digs. The Blue Devils rounded out the day with a two set victory over Crofton, winning 25-16 and 25-21. Schweers led with seven kills and also led in digs with eight, while Evetovitch had 25 set assists. With the trio of wins, Wayne is now 8-1 on the year.
