WSC Volleyball's Hobbs And Frauendorfer Named All-Tournament

WAYNE - Senior outside hitter Cori Hobbs and freshman middle blocker Alyssa Frauendorfer represented Wayne State College on the CSU-Pueblo Ramada ThunderWolves Classic All-Tournament Volleyball Team that was announced Monday afternoon.
The two players helped the 8-0 Wildcats go 4-0 in the two-day tournament over the weekend.
Other players selected to the team included setter Kelsey Kankhauser and outside hitter Jenna Isaacs of Southwest Baptist, Brianna Bryant from CSU Pueblo, Emma Brydels of Lindenwood and Alison Cole from Southwestern Oklahoma State.
Hobbs had two double-doubles in the four matches and averaged 4.50 kills and 3.83 digs for the Wildcats. She had a weekend-best 16 kills in a 3-0 win over William Jewell Saturday and had double-doubles of 11 kills and 13 digs against Chadron State and 13 kills and 11 digs vs. Southwestern Oklahoma State, both 3-0 Wildcat wins.
Frauendorfer accounted for 2.50 kills and 1.33 blocks while hitting an efficient .361 in the four Wayne State victories. The Humphrey High product had 10 kills and three blocks against William Jewell and had a weekend best five blocks on Friday against Lindenwood.
Wayne State, 8-0 and ranked seventh in this week's AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, opens Northern Sun Conference play at home Thursday evening against the University of Sioux Falls in a 7 p.m. match at Rice Auditorium in Wayne.
