Funeral services for Marilyn Finn Age 85 of Carroll will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The Officiant will be Rev. Mark Beran. Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne on

Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pender, Nebraska. She passed away Tuesday at Providence Medical Center in Wayne. Memorials may be directed to:  St. Mary’s Parish, Providence Medical Center Hospice, or Donor Choice. Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Marilyn was a devoted, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
    Marilyn Anne was born on Dec. 29, 1927, at Pender to Charles and Blanche (Humlicek) Brich, growing up south of Pender. She attended rural school District 53.
    The 1945 Pender High School graduate earned a teacher’s certificate from Wayne State College. Marilyn taught three years at rural schools in Cuming and Thurston counties, and then taught first- and second-graders at the Wausa Public Schools for one year. On Jan. 22, 1951, she and Patrick Claire Finn of Carroll were married in Randolph. The couple lived in Yankton, S.D., where   their first daughter, Mary 
Patricia was born.  In January 1953, the family moved to the Finn family farm northeast of Carroll. Seven more children were born to this union: Sally, Alan, Eileen, Amy, Michael, Annette and Joseph.  She enjoyed reading; writing letters; gardening; baking and cooking; music; genealogy; and visiting with friends and relatives. She was a woman of deep faith, always serving others before self.
    Survivors include her husband, Pat; her eight children and their spouses Mary Pat and Michael Hoag of Norfolk; Sally and Russell Stahlecker of Norfolk; Alan and Debra Finn of Wayne; Eileen Finn of Bellevue; Amy and Gary Rasmussen of York; Michael and Lori Finn of Winside; Annette and David Wegrzyn of Omaha; and the Rev. Joseph Finn of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great-grand-children; eight step-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Gordon Brich, of Grants Pass, OR.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Franklin Brich.
