Lila Mae (Sherman) Stark was born May 30, 1924, at the home of her parents, Guy & Effie (Rogers) Sherman in Dixon County, Nebraska. In May, 1943, Lila married Arnim Stark. They farmed in Dixon & Cedar County. She was a home-maker, but later drove a school bus for Laurel-Concord Unified School District for almost two decades. She went to country school for eight years, then to Clark Center High School for two years, graduating from Dixon High School in 1942. She was Baptized and Confirmed into the Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg in 1944. She later joined the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Laurel when they moved to Cedar County. She was an active member in the L.W.M. L. She especially liked being with the group making quilts. She enjoyed being with family, dancing with her husband, playing cards and music; especially big bands, country & western, & hymns.
Lila is survived by her four children: Larry of Laurel, Dennis (Brenda) of Juniata,  Kenneth (Janice) of rural Dixon, Kathleen (William) Rudy of Dinuba, CA, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; a sister Velma Bottorff of Ponca, sister-in-law June Sherman of Vermillion, SD; brother-in-law Gilmer Stark (and wife, Mary) of Laurel; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnim (Shorty) January 28, 2013, their son Barry (Larry's twin brother), her parents and five brothers, two brothers-in-law & four sisters-in-law.
Lila’s family appreciates your thoughts and kindness and invites you to lunch in the church fellowship hall following the committal service.
