WSC Volleyball 10th In Initial Region Rankings

WAYNE - Wayne State College is ranked 10th in the initial NCAA Division II Central Region Volleyball Rankings released Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA office in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The Central Region includes teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, Great American Conference and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
           
Wayne State is ranked 10th with a record of 19-7 overall and a 16-7 mark against teams within the region.  Six-time defending national champion Concordia-St. Paul heads the region rankings followed by Central Missouri, Washburn,  Minnesota Duluth and Southwest Minnesota State in the top five.  Harding is sixth with Nebraska-Kearney seventh followed by NSIC schools Augustana, Northern State and Wayne State rounding out the top 10.  The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Central Region Tournament December 5-7.
           
The Wildcats will host #20 Northern State Friday night at 7 p.m. and MSU Moorhead Saturday at 4 p.m. in the final two home games of the season for Wayne State College.
