WSC's Jordan Spencer Named NSIC WBB Player Of The Week

WAYNE - Jordan Spencer of Wayne State College was announced Monday afternoon as the Northern Sun Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota for her play in Saturday’s season opening win over Peru State. It’s the second time in her career that Spencer has received NSIC Player of the Week honors.
The 5’11” junior forward from Millard West HS scored 26 points in just 20 minutes of playing time to help the Wildcats cruise in a 105-41 win over Peru State Saturday night. Spencer made 8 of 11 shots and was 10 of 11 at the free throw line while also grabbing four rebounds to go with four assists, three steals and one blocked shot.
Spencer is Wayne State’s top returning scorer from last season when she averaged 15.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game to earn First Team All NSIC honors.
Wayne State, 1-0 on the season, will play at Chadron State Thursday evening at 7 p.m. and at South Dakota School of Mine Saturday at 5 p.m.
