Randolph Ends Football Season In D1 Quarterfinals

MILLIGAN (KTCH/KCTY) - Just eight teams remained as the quarterfinal round of the state high school football playoffs commenced on Tuesday night. In D1 action, Randolph was on the road at Exeter-Milligan. Both teams were battling injuries, as Randolph’s Dylan Loberg was hurt early on, and wouldn’t return until the second half. EM’s quarterback, Nolan White also left the game early due to a separated shoulder. Exeter-Milligan took and early 16-0 lead into halftime, and added to it, leading 28-0 in the fourth quarter. Loberg returned the game for the Cardinals and provided an immediate offensive spark, racing 55 yards for a touchdown. The two-point conversion made in 28-8 still in favor of the Timberwolves with 10:55 left in the game. The Cardinals recovered a fumble on their next defensive series, which would set up a 50-yard scoring run by Loberg, making it 28-14 with 8:53 to go. EM added another score however, to go up 36-14. Randolph would get their final score of the game with 5:34 to go, when Nolan Nordhues hit Logan Nordhues for a 12-yard touchdown pass. The conversion was good, making it 36-22. The Timberwolves were able to close the door with 1:26 to go, scoring one last time to make the final score 42-22. Randolph ends their season at 9-2 overall.
